Seymour Firearm incident – Charges
Firearm Incident – 31 December 2015 – Champ St, Seymour
At 7pm on New Years Eve a family dispute took place on private property at Champ Street, Seymour. As a result of a triple zero phone call police attended the incident address and arrested a man leaving the area.
A subsequent investigation by local uniform police and the Northern Criminal Investigation Branch has resulted in a man being charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Police will allege he fired up to seven rounds from a .22 calibre rifle at two other family members.
There were no significant injuries received as a result of the incident.
A 44 year old Seymour man will appear in a Launceston out of hours court at 8pm on 1 January 2016.
