Seven Mile Beach man charged with defrauding Meals on Wheels Tasmania
Police have charged a 60-year-old Seven Mile Beach man with Dishonestly Acquiring a Financial Advantage from Meals on Wheels Tasmania.
In 2017, police received a complaint from Meals on Wheels Tasmania regarding alleged frauds committed against their organisation by the former chief executive officer.
An investigation conducted by Tasmania Police’s Fraud & e-Crime Unit with the assistance of Meals on Wheels staff has determined that Meals on Wheels had been defrauded of a quantity of money.
The man was arrested on warrant and charged by detectives on Monday 23 July. He was bailed to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court on 10 September.
