Serious Two Vehicle Crash – Summerleas Road, Kingston (22-Oct)
Five people were conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by road ambulance as a result of a two vehicle crash on Huon Highway at the intersection of Summerleas Road near Kingston about 4pm on Thursday the 22nd day of October 2015.
The crash involved a grey coloured Suzuki Swift which was being driven in a westerly direction on the Highway by a 52 year old Huonville woman.
A grey coloured Nissan X-trail being driven by a 32 year old man from Bicheno was crossing over the highway on Summerleas Road from the northern to southern side. Both vehicles have impacted one another.
The driver of the X-trail and a 2 year old girl were conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital. The driver of the Sukuzi and her two female passengers (aged 11 and 31 years) were also conveyed to hospital.
The southern side of Summerleas Road (at the intersection) was closed for approximately 3 hours whilst investigations were made and the scene cleared.
The investigating officer Sergeant Rowe, from Kingston Police, would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash or seen either vehicle prior to the incident.
