Serious Two Vehicle Collision Channel Highway Taroona (29-March)
Approximately 16.58 hours on Saturday the 29th of March, 2014 a two vehicle collision occurred on the Channel Highway Taroona approximately 150 metres south of Baringa Road.
A green Toyota sedan was being driven in a southerly direction by a 57 year old man from Taroona, seated in the front seat was an 85 year old man also from Taroona.
The vehicle has rounded a left hand corner and collided head on with a north bound white Dyna light truck being driven by a 34 year old man from Lucaston. There were three children aged 7 months, 7 years and 9 years also in this vehicle.
The collision has occurred in the south bound lane.
As a result of the collision the 85 year old occupant of the Toyota was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital by ambulance, he is listed as critical.
Police would like to hear from any person who may have witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle prior to the crash.
