Serious Single Vehicle Crash – Upper Hilton Road – Austins Ferry
Two Austins Ferry men, one aged 23 and the other aged 36 are in the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious condition following a single vehicle crash on Upper Hilton Road, Austins Ferry at approximately 11.35am on Wednesday 5th March 2014.
The 23 year old man was driving a white Holden Commodore utility in an easterly direction on Upper Hilton Road. Just east of the Gillies Road junction the vehicle has veered to the incorrect side of the road and impacted an aurora pole which was located on the gravel verge on the southern side.
The two men were the only occupants of the vehicle. They were both conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by ambulance.
The investigator, Senior Constable Peter GIBSON of Glenorchy Police, would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash or the driving behaviour of the vehicle beforehand.
