At approximately 8.55pm on Friday 19 August 2022, a red Toyota utility was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Grass Tree Hill Road, Richmond.

The driver and sole occupant was travelling north on Grass Tree Hill Road when the vehicle appears to have crossed to the incorrect side colliding with a tree. The driver was trapped in the vehicle for some time and extracted by the Tasmania Fire Service.

Once rescued, the driver was taken to RHH by the Tasmania Ambulance Service with suspected internal injuries and remains in the ICU in a stable condition.

Tasmania Police Crash Investigation Service is currently investigating the crash and yet to determine the cause.
