Serious pedestrian crash Charles Street Launceston

On Tuesday 30th April 2013 at 11.58am, a serious crash has occurred on Charles Street, Launceston.

An 86 year old female from Launceston had commenced crossing Charles Street, near Batten Street, when she was struck by a red 2009 Mazda sedan, that was being driven south by a 40 year old Riverside female.

The 86 yr old female was taken by ambulance to the Launceston General Hospital, and remains there in a serious condition in ICU. The 40 yr old driver was uninjured.

Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this crash.

Northern Crash Investigation and Forensic Services Officers attended the scene.
