Serious pedestrian crash – Brooker Highway, Granton

 

A 45 year old Granton man is in the Royal Hobart Hospital after having been struck by a motor vehicle on the Brooker Highway in the vicinity of the junction of Black Snake Lane, Granton at 12.30am on Sunday 10 July 2016.

 

At that time a black Mazda 2 hatch was being driven in a northerly direction on the Brooker Highway by a 17 year old male from Moonah.  The driver of the vehicle observed the pedestrian and attempted to take evasive action but unfortunately the Granton man was struck by the front of the vehicle.

 

The vehicle came to an immediate stop.  The driver wasn’t injured.  Excessive speed wasn’t a factor.

 

The investigating officer, Constable Rance SWINTON would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash on 131444.
