Serious motor vehicle crash – South Preston

At about 1.30am on Tuesday 9 February 2016 police attended a serious single vehicle crash on Castra Road, South Preston.

There were three passengers in the vehicle, one in the front seat and two in the tray of the utility.

Both passengers in the tray of the vehicle were transported to Burnie NWGH with suspected back related injuries. One, a 19 year old man from Ulverstone has since been transported to Austin Hospital in Melbourne and the other, also 19 years and from Ulverstone is in a stable condition at Burnie NWGH.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, with initial indications suggesting excessive speed for the conditions, may have been a factor.
