Serious Motor Vehicle Accident – Boyer Road, Dromedary
Police and emergency services attended a serious motor vehicle accident on Boyer Road, Dromedary on Friday evening. The crash was the result of a head on collision between a red Ford Fairmont driving towards Bridgewater and a purple Holden Commodore heading to New Norfolk.
The Ford has failed to navigate a right-hand bend and crossed on to the incorrect side of the road, colliding with the Commodore.
The 38-year-old female driver of the Commodore sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) where she is currently in a serious condition. The other occupants of the vehicle, her daughter and two Grandchildren, were taken to the hospital for observation.
The 19-year-old driver, and two passengers in the Ford, also sustained injuries and were taken to the RHH.
Crash Investigation Services are investigating the cause of the accident.
It is not known if alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash.
