Serious injury collision East Devonport

SERIOUS INJURY COLLISION – EAST DEVONPORT

Tasmania Police attended the scene of a two vehicle collision at the junction of Tarlton Street and Stephen Street, East Devonport which occurred at 5.00pm on Tuesday 17 June 2014.

The collision involved a white Ford Falcon XR6 sedan being driven north on Tarlton Street by a 19 year old Port Sorell man and a brown Mazda hatch being driven by a 23 year old Devonport man. Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the collision.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Mazda was conveyed to the NWRH, Burnie where he is listed as being in a serious but stable condition. The occupant of the Ford was uninjured.

Tarlton Street was closed and traffic was diverted around the scene for 3 hours while investigations into the cause were carried out and the scene cleared.

Police from Devonport Station attended along with Forensic Services and Road Safety Task Force officers.
