In the early hours of Saturday 19^th July 2014, a 28 year old man received serious head injuries after an incident outside Syrup Nightclub in Hobart.

The man is in hospital receiving treatment.

Extensive investigations have been and are continuing into this incident to determine the full circumstances.  Police can indicate however that assertions this incident was a ‘king hit’ are not correct.

At this stage, no charges have been laid.

Hobart CIB have interviewed a number of people and obtained video footage but would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information that will assist police investigations.
