Serious Four Vehicle Crash On Tasman Highway At Mornington On Tuesday 15th Of November 2016 At 3:35pm
A 23 year old man from Sorell is in the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition after a four vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway at Mornington on Tuesday the 11th day of November 2016 at 3:35pm.
The injured man was driving a white extra cab utility along the highway from the direction of Hobart toward Sorell. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time.
The vehicle has collided with the right hand side of a silver Toyota Echo causing both vehicles to lose control. The white utility has overturned and slid for a distance before colliding with two other stationary vehicles.
The driver of the Toyota Echo was also conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by road Ambulance where her condition is described as stable.
The road was closed for a period of four hours while Crash Investigation and Forensic Services attended the scene.
The crash is being investigated by Constable SAMES of Southern Road and Public Order Services. He would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash or seen any of the vehicles travelling along the highway beforehand.
