A 50 year old cyclist from Blackmans Bay was seriously injured as a result of a collision with a truck on Brightwater Road Blackmans Bay approximately 7.30am Wednesday the 22nd of January, 2014.

The rider was heading east on Brightwater Road on his black Giant mountain bike when he has collided with the side of a truck at the road works near the intersection of Roslyn Avenue.

The 29 year old truck driver from Snug was not injured. The truck involved was a white Mitsubishi tip truck.

The cyclist was conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by Ambulance with critical injuries.

Police would like to hear from any person who may have witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle prior to the crash.
