At 1 pm on Sunday 6^th December 2015, a rally car taking part in a closed road race at Poatina lost control on a bend.

The passenger side of the vehicle collided with a tree, causing serious injuries to the 53 year old male passenger.

The 17 year old driver sustained minor injuries.

Both occupants have been taken to the Launceston General Hospital.  Police are investigating the incident.
