Police and emergency services responded to a crash between a motor vehicle and cyclist shortly before 3pm today, at the intersection of Atkinsons Road and West Tamar Highway, Legana.

The collision involved a car driven by a 29 year old man, and a 26 year old cyclist.

The cyclist sustained a serious injury and was transported to hospital by ambulance. His condition has been assessed as serious but stable. The  driver was not injured.

Atkinsons Road was closed, and traffic diversions were established on West Tamar Highway whilst police conducted investigations at the scene.

The scene has since been cleared and the roads reopened. Investigations regarding the collision are continuing.
