Serious Crash – Glenora Road, Plenty
At 12.55pm on Saturday 28th February 2015 Police were notified of a motor vehicle crash on Glenora Road at Plenty. A black Hyundai Accent hatch travelling west bound on Glenora Road collided with an east bound green Hyundai Excel sedan.
The 17 year old female driver of the green Excel and her 36 year old female passenger were both trapped in the vehicle. Once extricated they were conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by helicopter. Their condition is reported as serious.
The driver and sole occupant of the Accent a 20 year old Glenorchy woman was conveyed, by road ambulance, to the Royal Hobart Hospital for observation.
Police Crash Investigation Services and Forensic Services have examined the crash scene and investigations are still ongoing. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
The crash site was on an area of Glenora Road which had double continuous white lines separating the lanes. The road was wet at the time.
Glenora Road was closed to traffic for around 4 hours with vehicles being diverted around the scene.
