SERIOUS CRASH BINALONG BAY

Emergency Services were called to attend a serious crash involving two vehicles on Binalong Bay Road, St Helens, at approximately 5.50pm on Sunday 28/06/2015.

A white Nissan X Trail, with 1 occupant, was travelling south towards St Helens and a Honda Jazz hybrid, with 3 occupants, was travelling towards Binalong Bay when they collided head on near Moulting Bay.

The Honda caught fire upon impact and was totally destroyed. The Nissan was extensively damaged also. The occupants of both vehicles managed to escape.

All four people were conveyed to the St Helens District Hospital for examination, with one person being flown to the Launceston general Hospital with leg injuries. Both drivers submitted to blood tests.

Northern Forensic Services and Crash Investigation Services attended the scene, the vehicles were seized and investigations are continuing.

Binalong Bay Road was closed for approximately six hours but traffic was diverted around the foreshore area, by SES volunteers.
