At about 4.45am on Sunday the 14 August 2016 an unconscious male was located by members of the public lying in the carpark entrance to the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Cameron Street Launceston.

Tasmanian Ambulance Service attended and conveyed the 37 year old male to the Launceston General Hospital with serious head and facial injuries.  He has since been flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition.

Police would like to speak with members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or observed two male persons running from the area around this time towards the direction of the City Park.
