Seizure of methylamphetamine (ICE) and cash

At about 10.30am on Tuesday 23rd August 2016 detectives from Southern Drug Investigation Services intercepted a vehicle in Lower Sandy Bay, containing two men.  The men were arrested after police located 28 grams of crystal methylamphetamine (ICE) and a large quantity of cash in the vehicle.

 

As a result of the arrest, detectives conducted a search of a residence in Sandy Bay which located a further 112 grams of crystal methylamphetamine (ICE) and another large quantity of cash.

 

Due to the above incident a 33 year old man from Rosetta has been charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Drug and has been bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

 

In addition a 32 year old man from Sandy Bay has been charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Dealing with the Proceeds of Crime and Unlawfully Possess a Firearm (Taser). He has been detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.

 

The street value of the crystal methylamphetamine (ICE) seized above is approximately $140,000.
