Second offender charged over hotel robbery
At 10:13 pm on Saturday 28th January 2012 a serious aggravated armed robbery was committed at the Queens Head Hotel in North Hobart.
A 34 year old male was arrested at the scene after being apprehended by members of the public. The man was subsequently remanded in custody. A second offender fled the scene.
“Detectives from Hobart and Glenorchy CIB, with the support of specialist areas, have conducted extensive investigations this week to identify and locate the second offender,” said Detective Acting Inspetor Craig Joel.
At approximately 8.00 pm Thursday 2 February 2012 Detectives and uniform police arrested a 21 year old man at a house south of Sorell. The man has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, and other offences committed prior to robbery, including arson and burglary. The man will appear in court this morning.
