At about 4.30pm on Tuesday 25 November 2014 members of Western Drug Investigation Services executed a search warrant at a Parklands address in Burnie.

Police located a suspected clandestine laboratory and safety procedures were put into place. The occupants and two nearby residences were evacuated as a precaution. The scene was also attended by Tasmania Fire Service.

Police seized a number of exhibits which they will allege are involved in the production of illicit drugs.

Two people were assisting police with enquiries throughout the evening.

As a result of investigations a 32 year old female and 29 year old male have been jointly charged with manufacturing a controlled drug and other minor drug and firearms related offences.
