Search for person in a stolen motor vehicle

This morning a stolen motor vehicle was observed by police in the North East area of the State. An attempt to intercept the vehicle was made by police but the driver refused to stop.

The Police Helicopter was sent to the area to assist and a large police presence cordoned off the area. At about 11am the vehicle in question was located by police crashed on Pipers Brook Road, Pipers Brook. The offender is believed to have fled on foot into nearby bushland. An extensive air and land search is still being undertaken to locate the person.

Residents in the area are asked to be vigilant and report and suspicious activity to police. Residents in the area should also ensure all properties and vehicles are securely locked.
