The search for an overdue vessel in North West Tasmania has now resumed for a third day.

Sadly yesterday afternoon two of the three people that were onboard the overdue vessel were located deceased on the shore. 

Searching is underway with a Westpac Rescue Helicopter, and ground crews conducting a coastline search. 

While the police search is ongoing, to ensure safety and a coordinated approach, police ask that members of the community do not enter the water today to assist. 

The yellow and white 17ft Caribbean half cab vessel entered the water at the Wynyard boat ramp around noon Monday with three people on board and has failed to return.
