A search is currently underway in the Bridgewater area for missing man, Gatbel Gatwech, also known as Tot Tarir, aged 33 of Hobart.

Inspector George Cretu said that the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a marine vessel was being used to search the Bridgewater area, including the Jordan River.

Gatbel was last seen on foot in the Bridgewater area about 6.30pm on Sunday 4 August.

Gatbel is of slim build and was last seen wearing a black and red hooded top and grey Converse brand shoes.

Police and Gatbel’s family have concerns for his welfare and urge anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact Bridgewater Police on 131444.
