Search for missing bushwalker in south-west complete
Tasmania Police has completed its search for 76-year-old bushwalker James Hugh McLean, who has been missing in the state’s far south-west since 13 November 2018.
While missing persons cases are never closed and Police will act on any new information provided, all active air and land searches have now concluded.
The Coroner has been notified and Police have been in regular contact with Mr McLean’s family to inform them of the situation.
Mr McLean, of Flinders Island, signed into the Huon Track walk in the Tahune area on 13 November and was planning to walk to Melaleuca before returning on 13 December. He was last seen on 13 November.
Police would like to thank members of the public who have provided information.
