Tasmania Police are continuing to search the Mt Dundas area near Zeehan for a missing walker.

The walker is a 75 year old male Zeehan resident, he was last seen at around 5pm, 5th December 2015 when he left a remote hut to explore the area.

Search and Rescue personnel from Police and State Emergency Service have searched throughout the day with assistance provided by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Search and Rescue members will remain in the area of the hut overnight.

The search will resume at first light again with further assistance of SES volunteers.
