At approximately 6:00pm on Sunday 18/1/15 Tasmania Police Search and Rescue were notified of a missing bushwalker in the area of Moonlight Ridge, west of Lune River. A 46 year old woman from Middleton had been walking towards Lune River on Moonlight Ridge when she became disoriented and unable to find the walking track. Her son, who had become separated from her during the walk raised the alarm with police.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated and flew to the area and after a brief search located her about 500 metres south of the track.

The helicopter was able to land nearby where she was assisted into the aircraft and flown back to Hobart.

The woman was cold and wet but otherwise uninjured.
