Search for lost bushwalker on South Cape Range
Tasmania Police are responding to a report of a missing bushwalker in the South Cape Range, in the State’s south-west.
A 28 year old man from NSW, who is an experienced bushwalker, was walking in a group of four when he became separated from the group about 10am yesterday.
The man is believed to be in the South Cape Range, between South Cape Rivulet and Granite Beach.
The missing bushwalker was last seen at South Track Rivulet around 10am yesterday and police were notified today after the other members of the bushwalking party raised the alarm.
The missing bushwalker has warm clothes, tent and sleeping bag and a small supply of food but wasn’t carrying the group’s EPIRB when he became separated from the group.
Police from Dover, a search and rescue police walking party, assisted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, are currently being deployed to the area and will start the search.
