Sandy Bay assault

Hobart Detectives are seeking assistance from any member of the public who may have witnessed or heard a disturbance in Princess Street, Sandy Bay at about 10-30pm on Wednesday evening.

At that time a 22 year old female was walking to her home address and as she turned from Regent Street into Princess Street she was approached by three males. One of the males grabbed her by the wrist and demanded her wallet and indicated he had a knife.

There was a struggle between the female and the three men and the female was punched in the face. She eventually broke free and ran to a friend’s address nearby and police were contacted.

The female suffered minor bruising and swelling to the face but was otherwise unharmed.

The attackers are described as:

  1. Mid 20’s around 182 cm tall, fair complexion, slim muscular build wearing a  white polo T shirt with a  La Coste emblem on the pocket, darker pants, blonde hair, neat and short and had a  goatee beard.
     
  2. Similar deception to first attacker, no facial hair could be related.
     
  3. Mid 20’s 178 cm, slim build, slightly stockier than the other males, dark complexion, dark shaved hair and wearing large white skate shoes.
