Rokeby arson charges

Since the 29 April 2012, there have been eight (8) suspicious house fires reported in the suburb of Rokeby. As a result of investigations conducted by police officers attached to Taskforce Icarus, a man was arrested today in relation to unlawfully setting fire to property. 

Enquiries are continuing, and further arrests are expected.

 

At 1:30 am on 10 June 2012, there was an arson attack on a house at 4 Benboyd Court, Rokeby.  The vacant house was the target of a Molotov cocktail being thrown through the window. 

At 6:20pm on 27 May 2012, there was an arson attack on a house at 17 Arden Drive, Rokeby. The vacant house was the target of a Molotov cocktail being thrown through the window.  This was the second attack on the residence in the same day.

On Thursday, 21 June 2012, detectives from Eastern Criminal Investigation Branch taskforce charged a 19 year old male from Rokeby in relation to structure fires that occurred at the above addresses.

The male was bailed with strict conditions in relation to the matters and will appear in court at a later date.
