RICHMOND ARRESTS UPDATE

Hobart CIB has been investigating a series of crimes across the state after the arrest of two men at Richmond last night.

A 31 year old and a 23 year old, both from Ravenswood, have been in police custody since yesterday whilst the investigations were conducted.

This afternoon the men were charged with the following crimes;

1) Motor Vehicle Stealing  x 6
2) Aggravated burglary  x 6
3) Burglary  x 12
4) Stealing  x 15
5) Breach of bail conditions  x 2
6) Destroy Property  x 1
7) Aggravated Assault  x 1
8) Dangerous driving  x 1
9) Evade Police  x 2
10) Drive while disqualified (Vehicle and Traffic Act)  x 1
11) Possess a firearm when not the holder of a firearm licence of the appropriate category  x 1
12) Possess ammunition when not the holder of the appropriate firearm licence  x 1
13) Possess loaded firearm in a vehicle in a public place  x 1
14) Stealing Firearm or Firearm Part  x 1
15) Carry a firearm with intent to commit a crime  x 1
16) Handle a firearm whilst under the influence of alcohol or other drug  x 1

The investigations are ongoing and further charges may be laid at a later time.

The men have been remanded to appear in an out of hours sitting at the Hobart Magistrates Court either tonight or tomorrow to apply for bail.
