On Monday 24 September 2012 students will be returning to school after the current school holidays.

On that day police officers in the Northern Police District will be conducting traffic duties in the vicinity of city and country schools in Northern Tasmania in the morning and afternoon.   Officers will be giving specific attention to:  speeding vehicles, parking issues, pedestrian safety and unrestrained vehicle occupants.

Police are asking all motorists to take particular care around school zones on the return of students from school holidays.     On-going monitoring of school zones will also continue for remainder of the school year.
