The safety and security of our officers and state service employees is priority for the Department of Police and Emergency Management.

Tasmania Police continually reviews the security environment. While existing security measures for police stations are commensurate with the threat level and intelligence, we continue to review those arrangements.

There is no known information at this time to suggest an increased security threat to Tasmania Police or its interests.

We regularly provide Tasmania Police officers and state service employees with information and advice concerning personal security, including police residence security, and information on security for police buildings.

A security review guide has been developed and provided for security assessments of police facilities.

In relation to secure communication networks, these projects are being examined at the Commonwealth level in conjunction with other jurisdictions, and Tasmania is part of that process.
