At 1:00pm on Saturday 4/1/14 Tasmania Police Search and Rescue were notified of an injured walker on the side of The Acropolis in the Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park. The 35 year old South Australian woman had fallen and injured her leg and was unable to move.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated and was able to winch an Ambulance Tasmania Paramedic and a Police Rescue Crewman to the scene. Weather conditions consisted of strong wind, low cloud, and snow. Due to the poor weather conditions the woman was treated very briefly and then winched into the helicopter.
