A replica bayonet stolen from the Ulverstone ‘Clock Tower’ memorial last week has been recovered.

Ulverstone Police would like to thank the members of the public who assisted in relation to this matter and ensured the safe recovery of the bayonet.

Police are following a specific line of inquiry in relation to the person/people responsible for placing a tyre on the soldier statue and removing the bayonet.

No CCTV images in relation to the incident will be released in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
