Recovery Operations Update

Police have successfully recovered the Cessna aircraft, which crashed into the sea near Tasman Island on Monday 29th December 2014.

The aircraft has now been secured onto the M.V ‘Kulanda’ and is being transported back to Hobart.

The bodies of the two men are still contained within the cockpit of the aircraft at this time.

Members of Tasmania Police Forensics services will recover the bodies when the aircraft arrives back in Hobart later this evening.

Our thoughts are with the families as we complete these technical and delicate tasks.
