Ram Raids
Detectives from Glenorchy CIB are investigating two ram raids which occurred overnight.
Police believe that a stolen white Ford Courier utility and a stolen white Subaru Impreza may have had some involvement.
Police also believe at least three offenders were involved.
At approximately 2.50am this morning a white ute was reversed through the front door of Woolworths Store, New Norfolk.
Three offenders left the vehicle and attempted to steal cigarettes.
The doorway to the store was significantly damaged during the raid.
At approximately 3.20am police received another report of a ram raid, at the Granada Hotel BWS Bottleshop.
A white ute was reversed through the front of the store causing a substantial amount of damage to the premises.
Once inside offenders have stolen cigarettes and alcohol.
It is believed that the two vehicles involved in these incidents were both stolen and both were located burnt out earlier this morning.
CCTV footage has been reviewed and a description of the offenders obtained:
- Offender 1: Black hooded jumper over head, face covered , black trousers with white stripes down the sides, black shoes, yellow gloves Offender 2: Black hooded jumper over head white motive on back, face covered, black trousers, white shoes, red gloves, carrying pickaxe
- Offender 3: Black hooded jumper over head, black trousers, face covered, purple gloves
