Glenorchy CIB is investigating a ram raid incident earlier this morning at the BWS store at Northgate Shopping Centre in Glenorchy.

Around 02:15am this morning a stolen motor vehicle was used to commit a ram raid on the store.

Police allege the man reversed the stolen vehicle through the main northern entrance to the shopping centre before driving the vehicle through the doors to BWS from within the centre.

Once inside the BWS store the man stole approximately 20 bottles of spirits before driving the vehicle out of the shopping centre doors, causing further damage.

The damage to the building structure is significant and shoppers are asked to avoid this entrance today while repairs are underway.
