Quick police work on 27 February resulted in a stolen motorbike being recovered shortly after a house burglary in New Norfolk.

In the early hours on Tuesday 28 February a house on Leila Street was broken into and a motorbike was stolen.

Police attended and spoke to a number of witnesses and obtained CCTV footage.

With the assistance of information received, police quickly identified the offenders allegedly responsible for the burglary.

A short time later police attended an address in Bridgewater and arrested two offenders who police will allege were still wearing the clothes worn during the burglary.

A 29-year-old female from Bridgewater and a 39-year-old male from Dromedary were charged with aggravated burglary and stealing. They were both bailed to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

As part of the investigation police conducted several searches and recovered the stolen motorbike which has been return to its owner.

This incident is an example of how being vigilant and assisting police can result in positive outcomes for members of the community.
