Public health concerns – home brewed spirit
Tasmania Police is concerned for members of the public within the Break of Day municipality who may have recently consumed any form of home brewed ‘alcoholic spirits’.
Tasmania Police wishes to advise the public there are serious health risks associated with the consumption of home brewed spirits, including acute abdominal pain, dizziness, epileptic seizures, and possible loss of consciousness. Long term health implications can include blindness, kidney, heart or liver damage.
Tasmania Police urges anyone who may have consumed home brewed spirits within the past week to contact their local doctor or medical facility for advice and or treatment.
Tasmania Police request any member of the public in possession of home brewed spirits to contact their local Police Station immediately and seek advice regarding disposal.
