Protesters arrested
Nine (9) people were arrested by police earlier today following a protest by members of the Huon Environment Centre and Still Wild, Still Threatened in and around the Forestry Tasmania office in Melville Street, Hobart.
Five of the protesters were arrested for the offence of trespass. One of the protesters was required to be released by Tasmania Police Search and Rescue personnel from a platform construction attached to the flag pole at the top of the building. Another four protesters were arrested for the offence of committing a nuisance.
All protesters were released on bail to appear at the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
