Earlier today Hobart Police arrested a 58 year old man from Brisbane for failing to comply with the direction of a police officer, under the provisions of the recently enacted Reproductive Health (Access to Terminations) Act 2013.

The man was found by police protesting and handing out anti-abortion material within 150m of premises at which terminations are provided.  The man was requested by police to move on and after he refused he was arrested.

The man has been charged and bailed with conditions not to return to this area.  He will appear in court at a future date.
