At approximately 2.10pm today a 24 year old inmate from the Hobart Remand Centre escaped from custody whilst being conveyed from the Royal Hobart Hospital back to the Centre.

He was apprehended by Hobart Police approximately twenty (20) minutes later on the Queens Domain.

The male will appear in court later this evening in regards to one (1) count of escape.
