Hobart Detectives are anxious to locate a female who was the victim of an assault in Charles Street Moonah just after 6pm on Monday evening.

Police were made aware of this incident where four young males were verbally abusing a female of African appearance and her male companion and during this situation the female was assaulted.

Two other men, who were present at a house in Charles Street, heard cries for help and went out and interrupted this assault. One of these men was then assaulted by two of the young males and on attendance of police those two males were arrested and charged with assault.

During the course of this incident the female and her companion fled the scene and at this time their identity is not known and no report has been made to police. 

Detectives would like these two persons to contact police in order that appropriate action can be taken against the offending males.
