Police searching for vehicle following collision and evade incident
Police in Northern Tasmania are searching for a vehicle and person of interest following a collision and evade incident earlier today.
The man driving the silver Honda Accord sedan reportedly deliberately collided with a police vehicle in Anderson Avenue, George Town shortly after 10:30am.
The driver then left the scene, evading police.
Police believe the driver may also be responsible for a separate deliberate collision with a police vehicle in Pateena Road, Longford about 4:30am this morning.
No one was injured in either incident, and both police vehicles involved sustained minor damage.
The man, believed to be aged in his mid-20s, is described as approximately 180 cm tall of solid build with brown hair.
The vehicle is a silver Honda Accord sedan (registration number unknown) is reportedly missing its passenger side mirror and has damage to the rear corner of the vehicle, on the passenger side.
It was last seen travelling south on the East Tamar Highway near the Batman Highway interlink.
Several police resources are being utilised in the search, including the Tasmania Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Anyone who has seen the vehicle or who may have dash cam footage of it being driven in the George Town / East Tamar Highway area is asked to contact police on 131 444.
