Police search continues for missing Kingston man
Police are today using the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter in their search for Kingston man Douglas Adamson who has been missing from his home for more than 24 hours.
Police are appealing for public help in locating Mr Adamson, aged 59, who has an intellectual disability and Asperger Syndrome.
He does not have any money and is likely to be very confused and hungry.
When he gets overly hungry his thought processes deteriorate and he is unlikely to seek help or appropriate shelter. He may simply lie down.
Police have been searching by land, sea and air since Mr Adamson was reported missing. The Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter has today been searching near Taroona.
He was last seen at his home in Kingston Beach in Southern Tasmania at 7.30am on Wednesday.
A possible sighting was reported in Southern Tasmania but it is still believed he could be anywhere in the State.
Mr Adamson moved to Tasmania from Victoria early in 2014 and lives with family members. He has recently expressed a desire to move back to Victoria and may have left the area on public transport or may have hitch hiked. Mr Adamson is described as looking in his 60’s, 170cm tall, very slight build, short blonde hair and he is clean shaven.
He is believed to be wearing dark blue work pants, a dark blue windcheater with a collar and a teal coloured pattern on the front, black work boots and he is believed to be wearing a light blue woollen jacket.
