As there has been an incredible response to the Tasmania Police recruitment course, the application process has been placed on hold from close of business, 2 May 2013.

Nearly 900 Expressions of Interest (EOI) applications have been received since the recruitment process opened on 8 April 2013.

The standard and number of applications has been overwhelming and we thank everyone who has taken the time to submit an application.

In addition to a recruit course of approximately 25 trainees, we will conduct a fast-track course for a limited number of former or current police officers.

All applicants will be contacted by Tasmania Police Recruiting on the outcome of their EOI.

It is anticipated that the courses will commence at the Tasmania Police Academy in August 2013.

Another recruit course is anticipated to be conducted in mid-2014, to maintain officer numbers at 1,120.
