A Tasmania Police officer will be proceeded against by infringement notice for the offence of driving without due care and attention.

It is alleged that the off-duty sergeant from northern Tasmania crashed his vehicle into a car parked on Westbury Road at Prospect on 10 December 2016.

The parked car was unattended at the time of the crash.

The officer remains on duty.
