Prosecution against a 36-year-old Constable from the Western region has ceased after his blood test returned a reading of 0.037%, below the 0.05% legal limit for blood alcohol.

He was charged with drink driving arising from an on-duty crash (minor) that occurred on 27 October 2019. He was subject to a breath analysis at the time and returned a positive reading of 0.052%.

He elected to have a blood test and the results have recently returned, showing the lower reading.

The internal investigation into the incident will continue.
